Wonderful. I am a Javanese gamelan player and I am aware of the subtle difficulties in playing harmonious gamelan especially the tricky instruments like kendang, gender and gambang. I am impressed how you guys can master the instruments. I miss the "Anjasmara arimami ..." in this clip. Thanks for posting.

yeah..pretty much love gamelan musici play almost everything in it.but really enjoy play "gambang" & "gendang"interesting history behind them.

Aku senang sekali mendengarkan musik gamelan ini, aku jadi ingat waktu aku masih tinggal di Yogyakarta, waktu itu aku sering main gamelan,dan aku pernah main gamelan di kraton yogyakarta,dan aku sering juga mengikuti lomba main gamelan, yg aku senengi yaitu: kebo giro dan asmarandana, pokok nya jangan lupakan musik kebudayaan kita yaitu gamelan.

one time i tried looking around for world music. most of it was people singing in their native way, but over a lameass 4/4 time euro techno dance beat

because the american culture makes all the others feel inferior which is false. however because they feel inferior they feel like their music is also inferior so they try to model their music more like western music slowly loosing all of this

I'd say this is a pretty strong argument for it not being lost, pre-internet how many people do you think knew about this type of music. It was available to some extent as I know of a few groups like king crimson that have had some influence from this style of music, but I would argue that it is much more accessible now than before. I would be about four fewer in my number of compositions if not for the internet allowing me to really discover and experience this music.
