ok. the physics of this is some of the chemicals react to make the co2 shoot up but mainly it is nucleation sites. nucleation sites are small tiny craters on the surface of the mentos. these small craters collect and release the co2 gas at such a rate that it causes the soda to shoot out to make room for the co2. the more mentos, the more nucleation sites, the bigger the geyser.

lol well it mainly happens because it causes the carbon dioxide to seperate from the liquid all at once and can only go up :P

o dear guys you are stupid, the reason the chemical reactions happen is because when the mint/mentos is added, it breaks the surface tension causing the chemical reaction to take place and thus making the liquid unstable and shooting up, like in the video.
