To call them nu metal would be to insult them. I would call them alternative metal. Whatever way you classify them, Disturbed rocks!

I see SK as just metal, no real sub-genre. I see Disturbed in with Godsmack and such, more like Hard Rock, no real difference though. SK is NOT numetal. NuMetal is like LOG and Shadows Fall. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure there is nothing new about SK.

Slipknot is definately metal but I would go as far to say that its a much different kind of metal compared to disturbed. Slipknot is NuMetal whereas Disturbed is more Alternative Metal.
