Wow...talk about Romantic style playing! I think Liszt himself would give his seal of approval of this intense performance. My favorite interpretation so far.

it's a shame the audio quality doesn't seem to do him justice...I would love to have been there the moment he played thisI remember when one of his pieces - I think it was a chopin - blew me away. He is definitely an original, talented, and admirable pianist...I'll be happy if I can play this piece as well as he does somedayIf there was a better recording, I this would probably rival Kissin's

...and you seem to be the only person around here, being able to hear with a certain intelligence and sensibility...:) I completely agree with you, Mortimer123! Nageeb Gardizi is one of those pianist, who deserves to be called a great pianist of now and tomorrow.

flyurway is partially right in my view - this is very unconventional piano playing. But is Gardizi overdoing it? I don't think so. Everything he does is musically motivated. He knows the vaue of silence (so many musicians don't). On top of that, he's brilliantly intelligent. Maybe it's that intelligence of his which saves the piece from becoming schmaltzy here, as it so often does. I for one am extremely impressed. This pianist really has something to say.
