No. Subaru is a girl who is in a wheelchair. Tsukasa is a girl who plays with a boy character. She was also in a coma due to prior events before the anime/manga started.

SIGN was the best of the series... funnier how you needed to play .hack//INFECTION to really understand all the terms in the show. Kite had a good story, but it still pales in comparison to Tsukasa's

correct, Tsukasa is a girl in real life playing a male character in The World to keep players from harrassing her, while the one in the wheelchair is Tsubaru (Subaru in some English versions)
