I think he is talking about Superman but I think he is also talking about other people, too. I believe that he is reflecting on the fact that even people who seem to have perfect lives have hidden troubles. And also, to be constantly looked up to and expected to be perfect is so hard. Many of my friends look up to me and expect me to do everything right. It's so terribly hard!

I love this song. Mostly cause I can relate to it. I was in a position recently that had alot of people looking up to me and counting on me to be perfect.
