mythbusters busted multiple experiments that were just done wrong. They don't have much credibility as far as what works and what doesn't. Several people have reproduced experiments that they have done, and got wildly different results. The people who did get results on the "busted" myths were usually acclaimed scientists instead of assholes who had a tv show.
