Nixon was so threatened by the Hippies, that he put marijuana in the Fed Drug List.Hippies were VERY POWERFUL in many aspects of society.

I'm going to put it like this, i think hippies were awesome but they never accomplished a damn thing. The events and rallies they held were amazing because of the musical talent that accompanied them but to say that hippies even so much as helped bring the boys back from Vietnam is giving them more credit then they deserve.
