They have daughter Tatiana, born October 30, 1978, followed in her father's footsteps to become a promising sprinter but later decided top level sports was not her passion. She is now a fashion designer.

Did Borzov and his wife ever have any kids? I never heard about him having a family even back then. Just curious. Thanks.

a tremendous technician. Lean, powerfull and elegant. Borzov to me is the best sprinter of the seventies. A pity he got injuries later on in his career.

the gold medal should go to those camera men, did they run along side him the entire time?

Really cool vid, thanks for posting it. Like other Americans I was taught growing up that the Soviets were the bad guys back then. But Borzov was a great champion and had far more class than most athletes today.

...and they both had run 9.9s once each, and I do believe that Borzov would have won anyway, and I'll tell you why. In the 400 meter relay final, Borzov received the baton 8 meters behind Hart, and he made up all but 1 of them at the tape. And in the 200 final, he SMOKED the Americans. Funny thing, I was all in love with Ludmila Tourisheva, and Borzov wound up marrying her....ALL RIGHT TRACK GUYS!!!!

I was 14 and a Roosky hatin'Super-American during these Olympics(remember, this was the Olympics when they gave the Russians 2 extra chances and set the clock back twice so they could beat the USA in basletball, and back then the US networks were talking much trash, that the Americans would have beaten Borzov, etc.I was very much into track back then( I later starred somewhat on my high school team)and I looked up Harts and Robinsons records....
