Actually, they met on a plane while Cyndi was with Blue Angel...Ironically while with Blue Angel, Cyndi had also met Rick Derringer...so she knew these people before she was a solo artist. Cyndi's manager at the time was vital in orchestrating the marriage of the WWF and Cyndi Lauper. All in the name of publicity to promote Cyndi to the masses. Radio at first thought GJWTHF was a joke, so it was hard at first to get them to play it. Add MTV, The Captain to a cyndi world and wah-lah.. a hit.
