Your thinking of the English version which are differently worded then the original i knew someone was gonna say its hate

''du hast'' YOU HAVE''du hasst'' YOU HATEBUT THE SOUND IS VERY SIMILAR

no hast is have, hasst is hate. Rammstein is known for their lyrics to have an almost double meaning.

Marack05 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
The way Rammstein wrote it they did Hast as hate so it would rhyme
bd189 (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
translates to 'you hate' the 'du hast mich' is 'you hate me'. a friend translated this for me and the whole song seems like a bunch of friends protesteing their buddy getting engaged or married. like how comedian jim bruer's joke about when a guys friends find out he's engaged, they react like he just died.
