Ura gyaku used in the clip is from takagi yoshin and not part of the traditional kihon happo. It's also supposed to be (as with most of takagi yoshin) designed for close-up encounters, not the extended distance you use it in here. and where is omote gyaku ski?

I really wonder what will happen when hatsumi dies.

Actually wrists locks can be extremely effective, however one handed wrist-locks maybe less so, anyone with a will to break free from a one handed wrist lock can, two hands and maybe not. The idea isn't to 'knock someone over' the idea is more to control them and bend them to your will, also i completely agree with FudoKonjo, you don't need to resist when passing on knowledge, if at a later time you wish to resist for further training it is a great idea, but not for initial teaching.

Why are you guys wearing gi jackets and yet no belts??? You may as well just wear jeans and jumpers. Or, are you trying to look 'cool'?

bojetsu, I trained in the Buj for ten years. I used to think it was fantastic. Then I woke up. You're the one with the 'clouded mind'. Get out of the Buj, if you want to thing clearly again.

elpy124, that is a load of unsubstantiated pseudo-philosophical clap trap. THERE IS ONLY ONE TRUTH. Whether or not any of us can see it, is another thing. If one man says there is a sun in the sky and another says there isn't, they can't both be right. If one person says the Buj teaches effective self defence and another says it doesn't, they can't both be right. I say the Buj is garbage and you don't. Only one of us is right. I say it's me.

i liked this video just because the body will move to prevent pain so a lot of these techniques will work so u both have arguable points in ur styles because it is one thing to put this in real time but if one is seasoned in a style then he will not be easily beaten does anyone have any other styles that i can look at plz reply.

look thats cool if u think that but ur mind is clouded u must be open to all possibilities there are always critics that say no but can you ever truly no unless you truly try with out having doubts?

Absolute rubbish, FudoKonjo. That is the oldest Buj excuse of them all. I've been hearing that one for over fifteen years. I was in the Buj for ten years and I've been to Japan a few times and trained all over Europe, America, Britain and Australia. You guys are all the same. "You have to go with the technique or you'd get injured". Garbage! A wrist lock isn't going to knock anyone over, so you shouldn't be pretending it does. Try kyokushin karate. You get knocked over for REAL in that. |
