What people here don't understand is that this would never happen in the real world. Never!! He would not be able to use this whole thing with out being interrupted. But as you begin to imagine how it would be like in the real world, you begin to realeyes that only parts of this would work.

I can understand why you are saying that, yet at the same time what I said is an actuality. Hell, just using the word extreme 3 times is a hypnotic pattern used by many salespeople to burn a phrase into the mind. Using the terms generalized and stretched is also manipulative of the language by adding a preconceived notion to my definition. By doing that you are manipulating other peoples opinions on what I have said. Do you understand what I mean now?

That's an an extreme, extreme, extremely generalized and stretched meaning of the term. I dont think I need to manipulate you to convince you of that. =)

Quite the contrary, manipulation is to influence someone for YOUR benefit. If its a win lose situation then it becomes bad but it could also be a win win. plus is not honest.Interesting tho. This sounds like it could be Ross Jeffries material.

How does it imply trickery exactly? Communication is manipulation. If you don't communitcate with people then you are not manipulating them, otherwise, you manipulate constantly just by talking. Even your post, as mine is as well, is manipulative in order to attempt an agreement, discussion, opposition or just a communication based on your map of the world. There is no end in existence that isn't selfish. It either makes you feel good, gets you things or makes you look good to others.

Manipulation of tools and materials is a good, or at least non-normative, thing; manipulating people implies trickery in order to reach selfish ends.
SilverIncubus (December 31, 1969 at 6:59 pm)
Since when is being able to manipulate bad. As far as I know then definition of manipulation is actually a good thing. |
