They have a sort of hipnotic state just after delivery for about 5 min. And yes, it is exhausting to birth.

Thanks. I was relieved she did so perfect!

Haha, its soo funny that like when the foal is first looking around and struggling to get up, the mommas so tired and like "Oh, yeah, whatever"!

She did quite well, especially for her first foal.

No. This was a surprise baby!! We did not know she was bred when we got her and discovered it 6 months later. Lolly has a permanent home here. We just love her. Trinket is now 2 years old, is abou 2 inches taller than Lolly so far and we are starting to let her get used to a child on her bareback and she is doing lovely! We will start Trinket soon in harness.

are u gonna breed lolly again?
Popperette (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
I drove Lolly in the cart for the first time 9-3-08 and she did great! Filly is 2 now!
I am LOOKING for a Haflinger mare for driving! My old pony we laid down last year and my 29 year old mare we will probably lay down this fall as she is getting arthritic now and has trouble lifting for the farrier, but she looks so beautiful! She has lawn privelges! I love seeing her.
