http://www.ted.com n clear, nontechnical language, string theorist Brian Greene explains how our understanding of the universe has evolved from Einstein's notions of gravity and space-time to superstring theory, where minuscule strands of energy vibrating in 11 dimensions create every particle and force in the universe. (This mind-bending theory may soon be put to the test at the Large Hadron Collider in Geneva.)

"Isn't it equivalent to say that we could be thrown to parallel universes on a car crash?" He left out a bit of info. Only the graviton could leave the dimension. The reason explained to me was that the graviton only resides in our dimension when bonded within the atom. Once split, the graviton transcends throughout all dimensions with no resistance until it is provoked to bond. But releasing this is super hard. This theory has so many facets; the larger it gets, the more I hope it is true.

What if all matter is simply "carried" by strings/fabric of the universe. These strings have no time, or space even. Only what they carry has restrictive rules. Imagine if initially all the strings are still, and it folding in perfectly synchronous to cause a collision. The strings then move, et voila, the vibrations suddenly carries a whole bunch of matter, determined by rules of the way the strings are vibrating. Hence the big bang. I need to talk to the Hawk about this.

good question, but as of yet there is really no answer, as the theory is just a theory. have a look at "imagining the tenth dimension" in a youtube search. that helped me in understanding this whole thing a lot better.

Meh, I'm not convinced, but it's still a young theory with a lot of work ahead of it! :)

How could you possibly know this?

Sorry to burst peoples bubbles but we'll never be able to see those dimensions because you will go phycho and end up dying because you will never be able to phathom another dimension.
