no bro is not Richie singing lol The lead singer from Los Lobos re-created Richies original music for the movie and they had Lou Diamond Phillips lip sing the songs they talked about it on the dvd "La Bamba" in the comentary sections the lead singer from Los Lobos tried his hardest to get his voice as close to how richie really sounded and he did a really good job
