I've taken lsd my self a few times and yet I dont understand how he is trying to justify that if 2 people take lsd that they now share the same "essence" I believe that is so incorrect and that lsd or any other drug is not necessary to share in someone's essence... To share someone's essence and being, all it takes is something called empathy and decency. It all sounds so exaggerated and unecessary but then again he's probably trippin out but I'd say he's definately overanalyzing EVERYTHING

i agree with you squirrel ....i think he made the experience very accessable which is extremely difficult ...in his writings also & as time went on he became more humorous ....more personable..i haven't come across too many people who have explained the experience to such perfection ...

I appreciated the acknowledgement that there is an element of fear in making the mental transition from me first to we all are one. Seeing images of the earth from space, this tiny oasis in the vastness of space, is a powerful tool that helps us overcome our instinctive reaction that clouds this higher truth. Look, we all are one!

He didn't miss squat. At a close examination of his speech and manerisms it is clear that he was a f***ing genius. In a matter of a few minutes he captured the essence of the lsd experience. Maybe not for you or the typical idiot who drops for no good reason. As for Tim Leary, he struck me as a nut.

I feel so robbed that I never even got to at the bear minimum hear Timothy Leary speak in personlet alone meet him, and you spent an hour and half with him and all you can say is he was a vain old prat, what a shame

I never really liked Ram Dass (no puns please). I feel he missed a few opportunities in this interview. At the first intelligent quetion, he buckles. I spent One and a half hours alone with Timothy Leary in a hotel room, attempting to communicate with the vain old prat. Some good thumbnail sketches of these people in "Milbrook" by Art Kleps (yes, I know what kind of creature he became). Thanks from a Sydney guy in Berlin!

what you're speaking of is a holistic, integral approach. We are simultaneously both parts and wholes, but the final truth is always that the whole is more than just the sum of its parts. look into Ken Wilber and Integral Theory. "Sex, Ecology, Spirituality" is his main work. Nothing short of incredible. |
