I pretty much jumped up when I saw that on NMTB. Such a blast from the past. Glad I'm not the only one who remembers them.

I think this could be one of the most beautifull songs ever, I'd forgotten all about it until I saw a clip on tv the other day, thanx never mind the buzzcocks, mesmerising.

Well, I must dig out that crappy copy I made of 'further' from the library. The Hurting & OK computer are up there in my top 10. This single is so unbelievably good that you go searching for reasons why it wasn't a world number one. It had everything - intro, build up, sweeping chorus, gorgeous arrangements, intriguing lyrics, vocalist with incredible range, and they were photogenic. But then, if all our favourites were smash hits, we'd never get to feel like we were in on a big secret.

I loved Geneva! What a brilliant album, who knows why they didn't break through. Tranquilizer was always my favourite track. Such a wonderful song.

i have 3 perfect albums in my collection - the hurting (tears for fears); ok computer (radiohead) and further (geneva) - i saw them twice in the 90's and they were even better live than recorded! Lead singer Andrew has a voice from God and, yes, real shame they didn't get their big chance - they would be wiping the floor with everyone these days! Don't know where the rest of the guys were from but I know Andrew was from East Kilbride, think he went to Claremont High |
