From an original CD: JUPITER NASA-VOYAGER SPACE SOUNDS (1990) BRAIN/MIND ResearchFascinating recording of Jupiter sounds (electromagnetic "voices") by NASA-Voyager. The complex interactions of charged electromagnetic particles from the solar wind , planetary magnetosphere etc. create vibration "soundscapes". It sounds very interesting, even scary.Jupiter is mostly composed of hydrogen and helium. The entire planet is made of gas, with no solid surface under the atmosphere. The pressures and temperatures deep in Jupiter are so high that gases form a gradual transition into liquids which are gradually compressed into a metallic "plasma" in which the molecules have been stripped of their outer electrons. The winds of Jupiter are a thousand metres per second relative to the rotating interior. Jupiter's magnetic field is four thousand times stronger than Earth's, and is tipped by 11° degrees of axis spin. This causes the magnetic field to wobble, which has a profound effect on trapped electronically charged particles. This plasma of charged particles is accelerated beyond the magnetosphere of Jupiter to speeds of tens of thousands of kilometres per second. It is these magnetic particle vibrations which generate some of the sound you hear on this recording.Visit http://www.inner-net.com/bmr/b... for more sounds.

Everyone knows that Jupiter has a solid center where unicorns live. This is a scientific FACT.

Negative. According to wikipedia:"is a celestial body orbiting a star or stellar remnant that is massive enough to be rounded by its own gravity, is not massive enough to cause thermonuclear fusion, and has cleared its neighbouring region of planetesimals."

With most (if not all) of the gas planets, if something was strong enough, it could pass all the way through. I am not sure if Jupiter is one of the ones they suspect to have a solid iron core. Nothing we can build today would withstand the pressure that deep into Jupiter though. It would be crushed. When comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 crashed into Jupiter, the gravity split the comet into multiple fragments just before impact into the atmosphere.

why this is good.

i thought in order for a planet to be a planet, it had to have at least a surface...If it dose not have a surface then does that mean anything like a meteor or even that cam that takes the sound and pics of planets can pass right trough it??? for give me im not to good in science LMAO!

there is no sound in space, you can prove that by putting an alarm clock under a bell jar and vaccuum the air out. it will make no noise. but that's not what were talking about, this is electro magnetic sounds!

WRONG!!!it does have a surface...youd just die from the gasses and the gravitational pull. i bet your 11 arent you?

Not saying this to be rude but "big" is just NOT the word to describe this planet!! That ball of gas is titanic huge!!!!! (I don't even think that can describe that either! LOL!!!)I can't even fathom just how huge that planet is if I could see it with my own eyes. It's amazing!

hmm, give me a link that says that
