The famed amusement park by the shore is still going strong, despite attempts to change its character. When i was a kid,my father would take me on the rides on the last day before summer vacation. The carousel, Wonder Wheel, and The famous Cyclone, which I never rode again since my father took me on it the first time. Nathan's franks are pure heaven, and I still go there occasionally for lunch.People who visit here wonder what the fuss is about, it just has a real New York feel and mystique.

"S'iz a mechaiah," indeed, to hear the Barry Sisters sing a tribute to Coney Island! (The East Coast - how I'll always miss it...)

What's up with the microcephalics? I recognize the tiny girl from Todd Browning's first film. She's great!

Thank you for a wonderful trip to Coney. Almost as good as the Sea Beach line to Stillwell Avenue and the smell of hot dogs and popcorn and we ran down the ramp to Surf Avenue. My mom gave me a sandwich and 10 cents for a day and a round trip ride to the beach from Williamsburg. You can't really go home again but we can try.

i remember1941 we graduated from ps226.. we had a prom in the local jewish temple..chaperoned by the local rabbi and priest..then we all hopped on the Sea beach train to Coney island for Nathan's hot dogs..It was Judy, myself (Harriet) and another girl..a boy named willie and another named George..it was safe to go all over the city at that time
