they were probably the first formed Thrash-band, but they released their debute album 1983 as well as Metallica and Slayer :P But you're right, Exciter should be on the list as one of the founders of thrash :D

ok i hate megadeth xD so ok. nvm megadeth is really a basic thrash metal band but no more like metallica... metallica is thrash until master of pupets-and justice for all after these 2 albums metallica are the most idiot band!!! i really love them but i love burton's metallica.. i mean kill em all, ride the lightning, master of pupets. after these i am not happy to listen to metallica

Exodus, Overkill, and Slayer were the first Thrash metal bands. Motorhead is british heavy metal.The main still thrash groups are Testament, Megadeth, Overkill, and Exodus
