yes, that's right.if you've got musical knowledge, study the notes of both songs and you'll find a lot of consensuses.

"Commercial success or high chart positions are absolutely NO proof of originality or artistic effort."This is so true. I'm just saying 50 cent. There, I killed that discussion. lol

And to your second statement: In comparison with contemporary dance music, the song is "slower", but as a song in itself, it's not "too slow" - there is no bpm limit that a song must cross so that it's a "good" song. But if you want fine contemporary dance music, then MB isn't a good choice, either, because - again - it's done without artistic effort or creativity, it's just the same as usual. Get a Daft Punk Album for example, or a good house sampler, and learn what true creativity is :)

And I do not agree with you :) Commercial success or high chart positions are absolutely NO proof of originality or artistic effort. It's not even a documentation of "zeitgeist" or contemporary taste anymore in the way it might have been 10 or 20 yrs ago. As I said in my first statement, covers (and remixes) are a legitimate form of art, but they should be done properly and in an elaborate way. MB's version of this song is NOT, he doesn't add anything what a machine couldn't do as well. |
