For me, it's a nice place to find independent directors. Among the cartoonish/merchandising/hyperactive clutter, can be found the world's best directing styles. The medium is cheaper than most, so it actually increases the chance of finding an incredible story. This one looked pretty good, but without the conclusion, I think I'll get around to it later. Also, oh my goodness, dubs, FOR THE FAIL. ]:D-

I'm sorry, i can bvelieve in an older person keeping a sort of an open mind, and not thinking anime is childish or dumb or whatever...but what exactly is your incentive to actually watch it on a regular basis ?

Great review, I was rather surprised Zipang was licensed in the US. It's a shame Geneon went under but good that they got the last dvd out before going under. I remember watching it on fansub before it was licensed, the American accents sounded really weird though and don't fit. Apparently the Manga is still on going but I think since Geneon owns the rights to Zipang, the lack of demand in America means that the chance of a second series of Zipang coming out probably won't happen.

This was a great review! Actually interested in checking it out, but that end factor as an open ended ending is the deturant.

I believe there as a live action movie of this made in Japan not too long ago. But I believe it may have been released under a different title. Anyways, great review. |
